Overall Philosophy
My mission is to create recipes that are easy to follow and taste amazing. I try to use everyday ingredients that can be found at your local grocery store and test my recipes over and over so that they can be recreated and enjoyed by everyone.
Recipe testing
I have personally created and tested every single recipe on this website.
Most of my recipes are tested at least three (or more) times in my home kitchen. Some require a lot more testing to get things just right. I create and test all of the recipes I publish to personally ensure they meet my standards of taste, quality, and ease of preparation.
I also incorporate feedback from my readers after a recipe is published and update my recipes as needed. If you discover an error or issue with one of my recipes, please let me know! I want my recipes to be accurate and work for everyone.
Writing
The content on Mike Bakes NYC is 100% created and written by Mike Johnson.
Not only do I create and test every recipe, I write each blog post. Since I know each recipe intimately, I'm able to provide tips, tools, serving recommendations, and insight that no one else can.
My blog posts are written with the reader in mind, providing you with information about the recipe that you can’t find in the recipe itself.
This insight might be: a specific kitchen tool to use, notes on ingredients or ingredient substitution options, or storage and reheating advice.
My goal is to clearly pass along useful information about the recipe in my blog posts. I hope you appreciate and enjoy my efforts!
